Happy Birthday Internet.

On 1st January 1983, the Advanced Research Projects Agency Network (ARPANET) changed from Network Control Protocol to Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Control Protocol (TCP/IP) hence The Internet was born. Even though computers were connected with one another since 1960’s but the internet as we know today would not have been possible without the TCP/IP . ARPANET switched from Network Control Protocol to TCP/IP because it was reaching the threshold of number of protocol’s limitation. The ARPANET had about 1,000 computers connected to manage more computers connect to its network a new type of protocol had to be made.

Vint Cerf and Robert Kahn have been working on the problem of connecting a large number of computers for 10 years, then in 1st January 1983, they came up with TCP/IP. After 6 years, Tim Berners-Lee first connected a number of hypertext document with TCP/IP and named it the World Wide Web.
